Before joining the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) as a PhD student in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Sarang worked as a Process Engineer in the Petroleum Sector, gaining extensive experience in budgeting, managing, and executing business plans. His current research focuses on synthesizing and characterizing Supported Ionic Liquid Membranes for CO₂ absorption using an AI-aided approach and synthesizing 2D porous materials like COFs/MOFs for carbon capture. His technical expertise and seven years of industry experience make him well-suited for the treasurer position at the Electrochemical Society-UNL.
